Carol Pike: Illustrator, writer, artist.

Raised in rural Lincolnshire, England, Carol started her studies at Lincoln College of Art and finished at the Leeds Metropolitan University with a BA (hons) in illustration.

Her first book was illustrating ‘Edward Lear’s ABC’, then she wrote and illustrated ‘The Nutty Queen”. Despite the demands of her three boys she still manages to illustrate and write for books, magazines, greeting cards, packaging, advertising and television.

Carol now lives in Whitby, Ontario, where, as an artist she is inspired by its big skies and vibrant colours. Husband Michael’s film career had brought the whole family to Canada. Now fully acclimatised (well except for the winters) to the Canadian way of life Carol is continuing with her career in children’s illustrations, as well as running art classes for local budding child artists. Running these classes keeps Carol in contact with her younger audience.

Big, small, whatever the project Carol always rises to the challenge.

She is also developing a new direction; a freer, more fine art approach to facilitate her self-expression.
